You’ve probably heard me talk about “the pub” as the main spot for our meetups—and maybe even as part of a long-term dream of running a pub or coffee shop someday. After hosting our first three gatherings there, we stepped back and asked: what kind of space truly serves the heart of the GAP project?
Here’s what we realized: our meetups are about meaningful, thought-provoking conversations—discussions that challenge us, teach us something new, or make us pause and think, “Wow, I’ve never seen it that way.” To make that happen, we need spaces that naturally support connection, openness, and focus.
That means the venue really matters.
If the main draw is drinking, it can shift the atmosphere and make it harder to form genuine, lasting connections. We also want the spaces we meet in to reflect the values we stand for. If a venue’s culture pulls in the opposite direction, it’s probably not the right fit—cool space or not.
So we’ve decided to rotate between different types of venues, including pubs and coffee shops, depending on what best suits the mood, people, and purpose of each gathering. The goal is to stay flexible, thoughtful, and intentional about creating an environment where real connections can happen.
Whether you’re fueled by coffee, enjoy the pub vibe, or just love great conversation, keep an eye out for updates on our meetup locations. I can’t wait to see you there—bring your curiosity, your perspective, and maybe your favorite drink in hand.
